Partnership Reading at Buttercup

The Year 3 and 4 children were given the opportunity to visit the Year 1 and 2 class, while the Year 5 and 6 children spent time with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) children, sharing and reading stories together. In addition, the Year 1 and 2 children also had the chance to read to the older pupils, creating a lovely atmosphere of mutual learning and support. It was particularly encouraging to see how attentively the Year 3 and 4 children listened and supported the younger children, helping to boost their confidence in reading. Meanwhile, the Nursery and Reception children chose books they wanted the older pupils to read to them, making the experience even more meaningful and engaging. It was inspiring to observe how well the Year 5 and 6 children shared stories with the younger pupils, demonstrating patience, kindness, and responsibility throughout. The positive interactions between all year groups were a pleasure to witness and highlighted the strong sense of community within the school.
