International Women’s Day Celebrations at Buttercup

We celebrated International Women’s day with the children. They spent time identifying the important women in their lives and sharing why those women are so special to them. It was a lovely opportunity for the children to reflect on the love, care, and guidance they receive from mothers, grandmothers, sisters, teachers, and other important female role models.

We also discussed the important roles of women in Islam. The children learned about the respect, honour, and value that Islam places on women. As part of this, we shared a message from the final sermon of the Prophet ﷺ, where he reminded Muslims to treat women with kindness, respect, and fairness.

To conclude the day, children were given a rose to take home and present to a special woman in their life as a small gesture of appreciation.
