Year 3 and 4 trip to the Science Museum
The pupils from Year 3 and 4 had embarked on an enlightening trip to the Science Museum, which was linked to their study of light and shadow. They took part in a variety of science workshops that were both educational and engaging.
One of the main attractions of their visit was the Flash Bang Wallop workshop. This was a captivating show filled with exciting experiments and demonstrations. It provided the children with a deeper understanding of the principles of energy transfer, including light, sound, heat, and movement.
They also explored the Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery. This interactive gallery allowed the pupils to engage with science and maths in a hands-on manner.
In addition to these activities, they also explored concepts related to mirrors and reflections at the Science Museum. This was a key part of their study on light and shadow. The children discovered firsthand how mirrors, with their smooth and shiny surfaces, can change the direction of light, creating reflections. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed these workshops. The trip reinforced their classroom learning and deepened their understanding of the concepts they had been studying, making their learning experience more enriching and enjoyable.
