Exploring London with Muslim History tours

Britain has a Muslim heritage dating back 1300 years. Muslim heritage is all around us evident in outstanding design and architecture, science, hidden gems, historical mosques and so much more! Our children have been studying the book ‘A walk in London’ by Salvatore  Rubino, which explores all of the historical landmarks of London and their wonderful and yet tragic stories behind each feature. As a Muslim school it was very important for our children to understand the history of the city they live in such as the London eye having 32 capsules to represent the 32 borough’s in London! It was also important for them to be aware of the Islamic stories and history that makes our great city so wonderful such as the first ever Mosque was a small house in Camden town and much more. This trip has made a huge impact on our children’s learning and development, staff and parents. Children saw sights like Tower bridge, Houses of Parliament, Tower of London and the epic changing of the guard parade in Buckingham.
