Safety week in EYFS

This year for safety week Early Years talked and learnt about how to keep their bodies safe from daily germs. They explored making their hands dirty and learning how to wash their hands properly. They also talked about how to keep germs to themselves and when to wash their hands. The friend Cawford the cat helped them to understand what germs are. Also during safety week  Early Years learnt about road safety, and how to stay safe on the roads. They learnt about the zebra crossing and the role of a lollypop person and pedestrian traffic lights! The children used their expressive arts skills to role play how to cross the road on a zebra crossing with a lollypop person . They had the local police visit to say hello and the children asked questions about road safety and what the police do when there is an accident on the road. The children are now more aware of  the importance of looking after themselves and crossing the road safely.
