Pioneering mums at Buttercup EYFS

A huge thank you to all the mums and female family members who joined us for our EYFS workshop, celebrating the importance of mothers and the wonderful female role models in our lives. In Islam, mothers hold a very special place, and the Qur’an reminds us of the importance of showing kindness, love and respect to our parents. Allah reminds us in Surah Al-Isra (17:23) to treat our parents with kindness, while Surah Luqman (31:14) highlights the sacrifices made by mothers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also emphasised the importance of mothers when he named the mother three times as the person most deserving of our good companionship (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim).The workshop provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the special women in our lives — our mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, teachers and other female role models — who nurture us, guide us, inspire us and help us grow. By recognising their contributions and learning about inspiring women, we encouraged our children to develop gratitude, respect and appreciation for those who make a positive difference in their lives.
