Maths week in Year 3 and 4
As part of Maths week, Year 3 & 4 participated in the Apprentice challenge! The children were given a budget of £20 and had to come up with a business plan to purchase items that would bring about profit. Our class chose to sell a variety of popcorn- sweet and salty, sweet and toffee flavoured popcorn! Some children had the opportunity to go to the shops and handle the expenses themselves! Everyone engaged in preparing and packaging the popcorn in plastic cones to sell in the school sale. They learnt keywords such as entrepreneur, budget, profit, etc. They recorded their expenditures and gained an insight to what is involved in running a business. They really enjoyed Maths week this year!
