Maths Week in KS 1
For Maths week, KS1 created posters about topics that they enjoyed this term followed by some facts about Maths that they know. This helped them recap their knowledge about what they have learnt this term as well as what they enjoyed most.
They then moved onto the maths table which had many maths related resources and tasks for the children to complete such as, making the following numbers with cubes, dealing with money, recognising shapes as well as learning the time. This was to enable them to consolidate the topics that they learned from the start of the year.
Towards the end of Maths week, KS1 were assigned to do a challenge to see which year group made the most profit by selling chosen goods. KS1 first learned about what profit was and discussed how much the ingredients would cost from the £20 budget they had to spend on making cinnamon rolls. Then as a group, KS1 worked out how much they would sell each cinnamon roll to make a profit.
