International Week at Buttercup Primary school 22nd-25th May 2017
At Buttercup primary, we celebrated International Week. Every class was allocated a country that the school councillors had chosen. The countries chosen were, Somalia , Algeria and Bangladesh this year. Early Years celebrated more than one country. Everyone had a busy week painting different flags, looking at artefacts, currency, and had the opportunity to learn about their country in depth. Each class shared their new-found knowledge in a presentation to the whole school assembly. The school Chef catered lunchtime meals reflecting each of the countries, we had Samboosa , Akhni Handesh, Halwa and many many more delicious healthy international meals that week. It was absolutely scrumptious! we ended the week with an international food fair. We celebrated the fact that diversity is the one true thing we all have in common!
