Celebrating World hijab day at Buttercup!

We celebrated World Hijab Day by wearing  beautiful hijabs of all colours and styles that belonged to someone that is an inspiration to us.

World Hijab Day is an annual event founded by Nazma Khan in 2013. The event takes place on February 1st each year in 140 countries worldwide. Its stated purpose is to encourage women of all religions and backgrounds to wear and experience the hijab to promote understanding, respect and tolerance.

The girls and boys honoured their special person by sharing why that person was an inspiration to them and highlighted the special qualities they possessed that made them unique.

Teachers shared their hijab journeys and reminded children that the hijab should  never stop them in pursuing their dreams.
