Food Week – Year 1 and 2

KS1 International Week – Learning About Britain​

As part of International Week, KS1 explored the country of Britain. We focused on a special British tradition – the tea party! The children learned about how tea parties have been a part of British culture for many years, especially during afternoon tea time. We talked about the types of food often enjoyed, such as sandwiches, scones, and cakes.​

To bring our learning to life, we held our very own British tea party in class. The children had a lovely time tasting a variety of traditional treats like sandwiches, cupcakes, and biscuits. We even practised polite manners and discussed how people used to dress up and use teapots and fine china at these events.
